Create your first campaign
A campaign is a one-off send to a list or segment. The builder walks you through audience, content and review, but the useful part of this article is the checklist before you send.
Set up sending first
Under Settings → Email, configure your sending identity and authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Sending from an unauthenticated domain is the fastest route to a spam folder, and it is worth doing before you build anything.
Build the campaign
- Go to Campaigns → New.
- Choose the audience — a list or a segment.
- Pick a template or start from blocks. Templates you save are reusable across campaigns.
- Write the subject line. This is where most of your open rate lives; spend disproportionate time here.
- Preview, then send yourself a test.
- Review and send, or schedule.
Pre-send checklist
- Open the test on a phone. Most of your list will.
- Click every link. Broken links in a send cannot be recalled.
- Check the unsubscribe link renders and works.
- Confirm the audience count is what you expected — an unexpectedly large number usually means the wrong segment.
- Check the sender name and reply-to address are ones a customer would recognise.
- Read the subject line out loud. If it sounds like a subject line, rewrite it.
Afterwards
Campaign performance is under Campaigns → Analytics. Look at clicks rather than opens — open tracking has been unreliable since mail privacy protection became widespread, and a campaign judged on opens alone is being judged on noise.
Not available yet
PixelChat does not have campaign A/B testing or send-time optimisation. If split testing is core to how you work, that is a genuine gap and worth knowing before you plan a programme around it.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I schedule a campaign?
- Yes, from the review step of the builder.
- How is unsubscribe handled?
- Unsubscribe is applied across sends automatically. A contact who opts out is suppressed platform-wide, not just for one campaign.
- Can I A/B test subject lines?
- Not yet. It is on the roadmap.
- Why are my open rates low?
- Open tracking is unreliable across most modern mail clients. Judge campaigns on clicks and on revenue.
